The
Sacred City of Caral is located in the valley of Supe, Barranca Province at 182
kms. form Lima city., in the north -Central area of Peru and
23 kms. To the east from Panamerican highway.The

Caral
represents the oldest civilization of America, of which development was almost
parallel to the oldest civilizations in the world,
like Mesopotamia, Egypt, India and China and in comparison with this rest
of the continent, the inhabitants of Caral were 1,500 years advanced in
relationship with Mesoamerican Civilizations.
There
is no doubt that Caral was the most emphasize and prominent
urban establishment because
its size of 66 hectares, as well as the kind of the architecture of this
complex.
In the
half of high area of the
city, there are 6 big pyramids, a large group of mud brick houses (residential
area) and other groups of houses,
all of them located in relation with the pyramids and arranged around an open
area or plaza.
The
Public Buildings were built with stone blocks and decorated and painted white,
yellow and red colors according each period of the city.
In the
other half of the city (low part) the arrangement of the buildings is different,
they are located on a low terrace aligned in
a East-West center although it is
towards to the half of high area of the city
Mostly
of these buildings are smaller dimensions in comparison with the higher area,
the most important is the Pyramid of the Amphitheatre, because it is connected
to the sink Circular Plaza, the biggest one of this city.
The
Sacred city of Caral is one of the most important archeological
discoveries in our time, the professionals are working very hard on this
area trying to develop the history and the mysteries of this ancient
civilization.

1: Lima/Caral/Lima.- Very early in the morning, weŽll be transported to the
Sacred City of Caral, located in Barranca Province, at 182 kms. From Lima city
and to 23 kms. To the east of the Panamerican highway.
